About Top Enrollers
Hi! I'm Brandon. I co-founded Power, and Top Enrollers is where I write about the craft of clinical operations.
I started this because the content out there isn't for the people doing the work. Trade press writes for investors. LinkedIn writes for execs. Conference talks are mostly thinly-disguised sales decks. Meanwhile the people I respect most — study managers, CRAs, CTAs, site coordinators — are running million-dollar protocols with broken tooling and almost no peer-to-peer signal on what actually works.
That's the gap. Top Enrollers is built for that reader.
Three things you'll get here:
Playbooks you can use on Monday. Named, ownable frameworks for the work — the 180-day enrollment check-in, the screen-fail diagnostic, site-feasibility scorecards, escalation scripts. Stuff you can steal and run with. If a framework can't be applied next week, it doesn't go in.
Voices the industry rarely hears. Sponsors get pitched to. Sites get audited. Patients get surveyed. None of them get interviewed — not on the operational reality of how a study actually runs. I'll bring those conversations on the record, with the same rigor you'd expect from a real publication.
Data and benchmarks — real ones. Power has run across 20+ Phase II/III programs and a 1m-patient community, so we see things from a vantage point most teams don't have. Screen-fail rates, time-to-first-patient, no-show rates, conversion by therapeutic area. Public when we can publish it. Anonymized when we can't.
The quiet thesis underneath all of this: quality beats speed. Everybody in this space sells faster recruitment. The CMOs I talk to keep saying the same thing — they'd take a slower study for higher quality any day. Top Enrollers will keep pulling on that thread.
A few things this isn't: a Power product blog, an AI-hype newsletter, or a hot-take feed. If you're a clinical operations professional who cares about the work, this is for you.
